Azadeh Gholaminejad earned her bachelor’s in electrical engineering, with a major in Control, from Isfahan University of Technology. She then obtained her master’s from Iran University of Science and Technology, where she applied machine learning to motor fault detection. She also explored fuzzy logic for traffic analysis during her bachelor’s project. Azadeh gained industry experience with Saipa-Citroën (now part of Stellantis), which strengthened her practical engineering skills and teamwork. In January 2023, she joined the McMaster Automotive Resource Centre (MARC) as a Ph.D. student under Professor Nahid-Mobarakeh. Her research focuses on vehicle electrification, including control of switched reluctance motors and battery state of charge and health estimation for electric vehicles.

On April 16th, McMaster University had the honour of welcoming His Excellency Kanji Yamanouchi, Japan’s Ambassador to Canada, along with Mr. Ryutaro Ishii, Counsellor at the Embassy of Japan, and Mr. Yasutsugu Tamura, First Secretary for Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation.
