Huda Hussein received her B.Sc. in electrical engineering with a specialization in control, from United Arab Emirates University, Abu Dhabi, in 2012. She later obtained her M.Sc. from Khalifa University, also in Abu Dhabi, in 2015. Huda gained several years of industry experience as a control engineer at the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), where she strengthened her technical expertise and developed strong analytical and communication skills. In September 2023, Huda joined the McMaster Automotive Resource Centre (MARC) to pursue her Ph.D. under the supervision of Dr. Ali Emadi. Her research focuses on artificial intelligence, battery management systems, and electric vehicle energy management, with a focus on optimizing battery life—an essential factor in electric vehicle performance and longevity.

On April 16th, McMaster University had the honour of welcoming His Excellency Kanji Yamanouchi, Japan’s Ambassador to Canada, along with Mr. Ryutaro Ishii, Counsellor at the Embassy of Japan, and Mr. Yasutsugu Tamura, First Secretary for Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation.
