Manar Emira

Master's Student

Manar Emira earned her undergraduate degree in mechatronics engineering from Mansoura University, Egypt, in 2023. Following her studies, she deepened her focus on automotive engineering and, in January 2024, joined the McMaster Automotive Resource Centre (MARC) at McMaster University. Under the supervision of Dr. Ali Emadi, Manar is currently pursuing her master’s degree in mechanical engineering, with research centered on modeling and thermal management for power electronics in electrified vehicles. She is also actively involved in automotive projects and initiatives in collaboration with Vitesco Technologies.

Full Profile

Manar Emira discovered her passion for engineering and problem-solving at a young age, while creating inventive projects with Meccano. This enthusiasm for developing practical solutions led her to pursue a degree in mechatronics engineering. During her undergraduate studies, she explored various fields including mechanical, electronics, and computer science. However, it was mechanical engineering that truly captured her interest. Through hands-on projects involving CNC and laser cutting machines, as well as creating 3D-printed tools, Manar refined her practical skills and deepened her understanding of mechanical systems.

In 2021, during her internship at Arab Contractors, Manar was introduced to the complexities of automotive engineering, particularly diesel and petrol engines. This experience sparked her passion for revolutionizing the automotive industry, with a particular focus on electric vehicles as a solution for improving energy efficiency and sustainability.

Manar is currently pursuing her M.A.Sc. in mechanical engineering at McMaster University, where she works with Dr. Ali Emadi’s research team at the McMaster Automotive Resource Centre (MARC). Her research focuses on modeling and thermal management of power electronics in electrified vehicles, which aligns with her commitment to developing innovative solutions that enhance the efficiency and sustainability of transportation systems.

Outside of her academic work, Manar enjoys hiking and spending time with family and friends. She is also passionate about art, expressing her creativity through graphic design, digital art, and portraiture.
