Full Profile
Mina Nematiandoost graduated with a B.Tech in power and energy from McMaster University. During her studies, she built a strong foundation in robotics, mechanical design, simulation, software, automation, and instrumentation. She developed a broad understanding of power systems and energy management, which helped her build skills across multiple engineering disciplines. Her work focuses on problem-solving and creating practical, innovative solutions.
Mina is now pursuing her M.A.Sc. in electrical and computer engineering at McMaster University, under the supervision of Dr. Ali Emadi and co-supervision of Dr. Mehdi Narimani. Her research centers on autonomous vehicles, with a focus on lane detection, control algorithms, and simulation. With the McMaster EcoCAR EV Challenge, she helped develop lane-centering and lane-keeping control systems. Mina’s current efforts centre around object-oriented programming in both software and hardware environments to validate algorithms under real driving conditions.
Mina has also collaborated with MathWorks, on state-of-charge estimation and battery cell model parameter optimization. This work strengthened her expertise in electric vehicle technologies and advanced modeling techniques.
Outside of research, Mina has stayed active in the arts and sports. She has participated in theatrical and musical performances and previously captained her junior school soccer team. Under her leadership, the team earned second place in the provincial championship in Isfahan, Iran. These experiences continue to fuel her love for art, music, and athletics.
