Morteza Adl

Ph.D. Student

Morteza Adl is a Ph.D. student at McMaster University, specializing in smart mobility applications, using machine learning and AI solutions. He has a strong background in mathematics and mechanical engineering.

Full Profile

Morteza Adl’s passion for mathematics was ignited during high school, when he discovered his natural ability for the subject. He even won a silver medal at the prestigious Iranian National Mathematical Olympiad. This achievement inspired him to pursue his academic interests in mechanics and motion, leading to the completion of his undergraduate and master’s in mechanical engineering, from the Sharif University of Technology in Iran. After graduating, Morteza gained valuable experience working in the R&D department of MAPNA Company. It was there that he developed innovative concepts for designing large electrical generators and procedures for modal and harmonic analysis of stator frames.

Currently, as a Ph.D. student at McMaster University, Morteza’s interests have shifted towards the application of artificial intelligence in the realm of smart mobility. His research focuses on using advanced technologies such as computer vision and machine learning to detect, track, and analyze the behaviour of road users. By leveraging these techniques, he aims to provide valuable insights into the dynamics of transportation systems, enabling the development of more efficient, safe, and sustainable mobility solutions. Morteza’s interdisciplinary approach integrates concepts from mathematics, computer science, and engineering, to develop data-driven solutions that adapt to changing traffic conditions and travel patterns. His goal is to improve the quality of life for individuals, by reducing congestion, minimizing environmental impact, and enhancing overall mobility experiences.
