Tara Rajabi Nezhad graduated with honours in Electrical Engineering in automation and control, from Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic), Tehran, Iran in July 2023. In September 2023, she joined the McMaster Automotive Resource Center (MARC) to pursue her master’s at McMaster University, under the supervision of Dr. Ali Emadi.
Tara is primarily engaged in the research and development of Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) applications, aiming to significantly contribute to automotive technology and sustainable mobility through driving simulators.
Full Profile
Tara earned 1st place in the Mathematical Olympiad at her Junior School, narrowed her undergraduate options to the engineering area. Choosing electrical engineering was a natural choice.
As part of her B.Sc. thesis, Tara researched on autonomous systems, specifically in the context “Leader Following Consensus in-Vehicle Platoons on IoT Based.” This involved in designing a multi-agent system (MAC) for a differential drive platoon, capable of omitting the influence of malfunctioned agents. This leads to improving stability and performance and developing tracking algorithms using ML approaches for accurate localization and obstacle avoidance.
Throughout her undergraduate years, she gained extensive hands-on experience in various research projects and learned how to apply the theoretical science she gained from her courses, in a more practical way. Tara participated in various workshops, lectures, and internships. These provided her with a strong foundation in design, control systems, and finite element analysis. She collaborated on establishing a Mini-Satellite module. This involved studies on various modulations, image processing, and hardware deployment. Additionally, she interned at Roupel startup, deepened knowledge in image processing, Artificial Intelligence (AI). Then she designed and implemented a tracking device using her skills in IoT and data-based Java.
Her continuous passion towards autonomous systems, is what prompted her to continue her study of electric cars. As a result, she applied for her master’s degree at McMaster university. She was thrilled to join the McMaster Automotive Resource Center (MARC) in September 2023, under the supervision of Dr. Ali Emadi.
In addition to her academic pursuits, Tara has a passion for exploring different cultures through travel. She also enjoys sports, music and sketching in her spare time. Additionally, she engages in activities such as hiking, biking, dancing and basketball.
