Full Profile

Some might refer to Teresa as a chameleon at heart because of her ability to adapt and change with new environments. Through her positive attitude and great level of patience, Teresa has been able to face challenges head on while maintaining her hunger for excellence. When she’s not working, Teresa loves to travel and experience other cultures. In fact, she spent two weeks driving solo in Italy to experience her cultural roots, an endeavour that perfectly illustrates her perseverance and drive.

Taking on new initiatives and challenges has always been an integral part of Teresa’s career path. Looking back at the many years spent in a banking environment, she was able to pick up the skill sets she knew would build her future. Accepting new roles in new environments provided her with positive results and helped pave the road for additional challenges and personal and professional growth. In 2006, Teresa took a great leap of faith, left the bank in Toronto, and accepted her role at McMaster University in Human Resources Services for five very rewarding years. This transition not only helped her avoid the long commute to and from Toronto, but it also allowed her to spend more time with her daughter, who after teaching English in South Korea, had finally returned home.

In 2011, accepting the role as Administrative Manager, Canada Excellence Research Chair (CERC) in Hybrid Powertrain Program, was a natural next step within the University. With new responsibilities and the growth of the program, came the development of her new role as Manager, Special Projects and Administration, CERC in Hybrid Powertrain Program. Teresa is both excited and honoured to be part of a team of scholars and professionals working towards creating the future of powertrain technology. She is looking forward to the many productive years to follow.
