Thisuri Harasari Indiketiya is a highly motivated Electrical Engineer with a strong academic background. Her research focuses on the experimental testing and characterization of switched reluctance motors. In Fall 2023, she joined McMaster University to pursue an MASc in Electrical Engineering under the supervision of Dr. Berker Bilgin, expanding her expertise in electric motor design and electromagnetic analysis.

Thisuri’s curiosity towards physics and passion for mathematics from childhood inspired her to pursue a career in engineering. Demonstrating dedication, she excelled in the most competitive examination in Sri Lanka and gained admission, with a merit scholarship, to the top engineering university in the country.

In 2018, Thisuri graduated with First-class Honours in B.Sc. Electrical Engineering from the University of Moratuwa, receiving the Best Final Year Project Award and ranking in the top 3% of her batch. Upon graduation, she worked as a Lecturer at the University of Moratuwa and the University of Ruhuna Sri Lanka.

Currently, Thisuri is a research assistant for the McMaster-Stellantis “Leadership in Automotive Powertrain (LEAP)” project, focusing on designing next-generation EV motors.
