Dr. Wesam Taha received the B.Sc. (Hons.) and M.Sc. degrees from Khalifa University of Science and Technology, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE), in 2013 and 2015, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree from McMaster University, Hamilton, ON, Canada, in 2023, all in electrical engineering. He is currently with the Advanced Innovation Division, Schaeffler, Chatham, ON, Canada. Before joining Schaeffler, he was a Research Engineer at Khalifa University from 2016 to 2019 and a Graduate Research Assistant at the McMaster Automotive Resource Centre, McMaster University, from 2019 to 2023. Since 2015, he led many industry-sponsored Research and Development projects in the automotive and oil and gas industries. He is the author/coauthor of over 30 journal and conference papers and holds seven pending patent applications. His current research interests include dc/dc and dc/ac power converter design and control, onboard vehicle chargers, and electric drives. Dr. Taha is an IEEE Senior Member and a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). He was the elected 2023 Chair of the IEEE Hamilton Section, where he received the IEEE Membership Outstanding Member Retention Performance Award. He was also a recipient of multiple prestigious awards including the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) Fellowship in 2013 and the Ontario Graduate Scholarship in 2020.
