Yasaman Niazi received her B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and M.Sc. in Power Systems from Isfahan University of Technology (IUT), Isfahan, Iran, in 2015 and 2019, respectively. In September 2022, she joined McMaster University in Hamilton as a Ph.D. student in Electrical Engineering. She is pursuing her Ph.D. under the supervision of Professor Babak Nahid-Mobarakeh at the McMaster Automotive Resource Centre (MARC). She has a strong academic background in power electronics and power systems. Her research focuses on developing advanced control methods for machine drives, a crucial area for modern transportation systems. Currently, she is working on flatness-based control of switched reluctance motors and improving control techniques over the entire operating range.
April 22, 2025: McMaster Welcomes Japanese Ambassador for Visit to Automotive Resource Centre
On April 16th, McMaster University had the honour of welcoming His Excellency Kanji Yamanouchi, Japan’s Ambassador to Canada, along with Mr. Ryutaro Ishii, Counsellor at the Embassy of Japan, and Mr. Yasutsugu Tamura, First Secretary for Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation.
